Monaco Grand Prix by Sea: Why Explora Journeys Is the Ultimate Way to Experience Formula 1's Most Iconic Race
For Formula 1 fans, the Monaco Grand Prix is the ultimate bucket-list event. For luxury travelers, it is also one of the world's most glamorous weekends. Staying aboard Explora I transformed the experience by placing us steps from the paddock, the harbor and the grandstands while combining the French Riviera with one unforgettable voyage.
The Journey Begins Along the French Riviera
Our adventure began in Nice before continuing to Saint-Tropez and Port Grimaud. Wandering Old Town, browsing the famous Place des Lices Market and enjoying a traditional Tarte Tropézienne reminded us that this trip was about far more than racing. The Riviera itself is worth the journey.

Arriving in Monaco
Nothing prepares you for Monaco during Grand Prix week. The harbor fills with extraordinary yachts, grandstands appear throughout the city and every street buzzes with anticipation. Because Explora I is docked in Monaco Harbor, we simply walked off the ship and into the center of the action.
Monaco Harbor transforms into one of the world's greatest yacht shows during Grand Prix weekend.
Walking the Circuit
One of our favorite experiences was walking the Monaco circuit at sunrise before the roads closed. Seeing the elevation changes, the famous tunnel and the harbor chicane on foot creates a new appreciation for what Formula 1 drivers accomplish.

Behind the Scenes
Throughout the weekend we watched Formula 3 and Formula 2, explored areas near the paddock and even watched teams moving race cars through Monaco's streets. Those unexpected moments often became our favorite memories.

Race Day
Our grandstand overlooked both the circuit and pit lane, giving us an incredible perspective of the strategy, pit stops and late-race drama. Every hillside, balcony and yacht became a viewing platform. Monaco is unlike any other sporting event in the world.
Why Explora Journeys Is Such a Smart Value
Monaco Grand Prix weekend is famous for extraordinary hotel prices. During race weekend, a sea-view suite within walking distance of the circuit can easily exceed $20,000 per person for four nights. Add race tickets, meals, drinks and transfers, and a comparable experience approaches $24,000 per person.
Explora Journeys changes that equation.
For approximately $16,000 per person, Explora I includes an oceanfront suite in Monaco Harbor, gourmet dining, premium beverages, airport transfers, evening entertainment and three-day grandstand tickets within walking distance of the ship.
Rather than spending your weekend navigating traffic, you simply step off the ship and stroll to the race. Travelers can save roughly $8,000 per person while enjoying an experience that is nearly impossible to replicate independently.
Explora Journeys embraced race weekend with thoughtful Formula 1-inspired touches.
